Skin is our most precious asset. It is a natural gift and we must value it a lot. Everyone wishes for a beautiful, glowing skin which would elicit a 'wow' from others. A person with beautiful skin easily becomes a centre of attraction and requires no additional make-up, embellishments or fineries to look beautiful. Beautiful skin is also a mark of sound health and general well-being of the person. The skin, being the most sensitive sense organ, requires special care.

1. Mix olive oil with fine ground oatmeal and apply on dry skin. This too sufficiently moisturizes dry, itchy skin. The antioxidants in olive oil prevent early wrinkling of skin.

2. Oily skin functions as a magnet for dust, dirt and germs. To remove excess oil from skin, you can mix sandalwood powder with rose water and apply on skin. Wait till it dries and then rinse off. This balances the oil content of the skin.

3. You can also make a home-made astringent for removing excess oil from skin. You only need to mix 2 teaspoons of lemon pulp and 2 tablespoons of Fuller's earth and little water. Apply the mixture on skin, keep for 15 minutes and then rinse off with warm water. You will get a fresh oil-free and beautiful skin.

4. Application of grapes pulp is very helpful for extracting blackheads and whiteheads.

5. You can also dab blackheads or whiteheads with a cotton ball soaked in a solution of boric powder and water. This allows easy squeezing.

6. Application of crushed garlic treats all forms of acne.

7. Castor oil has antimicrobial properties. Castor oil application, thus, treats skin fungus or bacterial attack.

8. Combine honey and lime juice in the ratio 2:1. Apply on skin, keep for 15 minutes and then wash off. This removes sun tan.

9. Application of Aloe Vera gel heals inflamed skin.

10. Rubbing raw potato juice or tomato pulp eradicates spots or blemishes and gives you a beautiful skin.

11. Mashed ripe banana application is a treatment for loose, saggy skin.

12. Rub the core of pineapple on skin. Wait till it dries and then wash off. This is an effective anti-wrinkle remedy.

13. Placing of sliced cucumber on eyes eliminates puffiness, wrinkles and dark circles. Steeped green tea bags or chamomile bags may also be applied for the same purpose. It is an effective home remedies for beautiful skin.

14. Mingle 4 ozs Shea butter, sweet almond oil or sesame oil and 1 tablespoon bee-wax. Apply the mixture on the skin around lips to take special care of it.
